My picks for the 2012 VGA's & results

Ok I know it's not my usual top 5 Friday but in honor of the Video Game Awards tonight at 9 p.m. ET on Spike I thought I'd share with you all my picks for who I believe will win, so here we go!

Update: I have included all the winners of this years VGA's as well as my reaction to the VGA's.

Game of the Year: Dishonored - I wanted to say Mass Effect 3 but people hated the ending so much I doubt it will sneak a win which is honestly a shame for an otherwise amazing game. Winner: The Walking Dead: The Game

Studio of the Year: 343 - They tackled one of the biggest franchises of all time and minus connection and balance issues did a damn good job. Winner: Telltale Games

Best XBOX 360 Game: Halo 4 - Basically for the same reasons as for why I think 343 will win, it's not flawless by any means but it's a good solid game. Winner: Halo 4

Best PS3 Game: Assassin's Creed 3 - Journey however has a lot of potential to win but i think in the end Assassin's Creed 3 will win for at least on of the categories it was nominated for and I think PS3 is most likely. Winner: Journey

Best Wii/Wii U Game: The Last Story - The Last story gave people a reason to buy a Wii game of the last time and with the Wii U having such a soft launch I don't expect a Wii U game to win it. Winner: New Super Mario Bros. U

Best PC Game: Guild Wars 2 - Diablo III is a very close second but I honestly believe more gamers got into and excited for Guild Wars 2 so that's my bet but this one will be close. Winner: Xcom: Enemy Unknown

Now I could give my reasons for each and every category but then this post would take up the whole page so, I'll just put my pick for each category, if you want to know more of why I chose it feel free to ask in the comments or on our Facebook page

Reaction - In all honesty I was very disappointed with the VGA's this year. It felt more like a very poor E3 with only three good revels, bad performances, and then every once in awhile they remembered it was an award show and gave out an award before continuing with more fluff that caused us to not see the results for big awards on TV. Biggest upsets to me were Character of the Year (how does Clap Trap beat Shepard and Chief?)  and Game of the Year (Bethesda and Bioware spent a lot of time and effort into their games to make them games that should have won game of the year and lost to a cell shaped download that took them a year max to make....how?). Hopefully next year they will learn from their mistakes and give us a VGA's worth watching.
