For those of you who do not know two very big posters were released today, both of which teased at the plot of their movies that so far have been shrouded in mystery.
Man of Steel: I'm not going to lie I've never been a big fan of Superman (I prefer a super hero with only a few powers) but Man of Steel has caught my eye. In this new released poster for Man of Steel Superman is being taken away in handcuffs by what looks like the Nation Guard or Army. So the question is now why? Why is Superman Earth's greatest hero in handcuffs? Why didn't he simply break the cuffs and leave? We won't truly know till Man of Steel is released on June 14th, 2013, but if I had to guess I'd say Nolan's influence on this movie will show how the U.S.A would most likely react to an alien with super powers landing in their backyard and Superman will have to prove he means them no harm.
Star Trek Into Darkness - This poster raises a lot of questions for the next of the new Star Trek series. Why all the destruction? Who created all of it? Why are they on Earth? If you look at a larger version you can see London attractions and since Star Fleet is based in San Francisco they can't be there just for a briefing or training. Rumors have it they might go for Gary Mitchell for the story's villian so did Mitchell try to destroy or take over the Earth? Will we see the crew of the Enterprise fight the possessed versions of one of their own? Whatever the reasons or official plot are Into Darkness is looking to be one hell of a movie and you can bet I'll be in line to see it May 17th, 2013.
Update: After seeing the trailer for Into Darkness (in particular the Japanese one) questions are starting to rise if Benedict Cumberbatch will be playing Khan himself (that would explain the extremely recognizable Wrath of Khan moment at the end of the Japanese trailer) and imdb has him listed as playing Khan (rumored). This movie is getting more and more interesting as time goes by.
That's all the speculation I have for now guys don't forget to keep voting and suggesting for Throw Down Thursday I will revile the winner of last weeks fight Wednesday night!
