Big News!
Big news today guys regarding the Future of Nerdy Nuances!
Up until this point I was the only one writing for this blog, one nerd's limited opinion on a world full of nerdy news and info. Now however Nerdy Nuances, will be not just me, but me and my two nerdy roommates all with varied opinions and knowledge of truly all things nerdy. By doing this our info will be more well, informed and will be looked at from all angles not just mine.
Also we will be starting our videos on YouTube Sunday, we will have new segments, old segments, and all around entertaining and great discussions (sometimes heated).
However, with all this in mind the fate of this blog is up in the air at this time, but I will keep you all posted. In the mean time here are the links to all the different sites you'll want to check out that will now be a part of Nerdy Nuances in one way or another including my new blog One Bad Bantha.

Assassin's Creed 3 Review
Assassin's Creed is a series that have taken us across many time periods in history and across the world. But how did the setting of the American Revolution fit the latest game in the series, Assassin's Creed 3? (Warning the review below does have SPOILERS for the game)
From the start of the game you can tell there have been several improvements to the series that needed to happen to properly get the feel of Colonial America, such as weather, the inability to kill civilians, and wildlife. Although these are nice additions they don't add that much to the game, besides one main mission early on, a could side missions and trading there is really no need to hunt it the game at all.
A big short coming of the game is the lack of an actual conclusion to the revolution. you take part in important battles and events for the revolution like Bunker Hill, Boston Tea Party, Paul Reveer's ride, and the Boston Massacre but then never have the conclusion of the British surrendering or seeing Washington become president, it's implied that the war is over but why weren't we officially show that? I know we all know what really happened in history but showing were Connor was when America official became a country would have been a nicer conclusion to his story then just that he killed the Templars he needed to.
The game overall is huge, many side missions and collectables to keep you busy even after the main story is finished, and the environment is huge with 4 large areas you can explore (not including sea missions).
The game play is exactly what you'd expect from an Assassin's Creed game but with a few nice additions such as being able to climb on trees and new weapons and combat moves that make it more diverse then previous installments. However, as fun as sailing looked in the demos for the the game this is really where the game play gets annoying. The camera never seems to be in the right place and the winds and waves change so often that sailing becomes a hassle. Playing as Desmond as well was either fun and unique or a boring distraction from the part of the game you actually want to be playing.
The multiplayer for the game is fun, for a little while but gets boring and repetitive real fast and gives you no benefits or bonuses what so ever, so in the end it just went unplayed and stayed in the case.
Finally the ending of the game with Desmond is very dumb, I won't ruin it for anyone but he was given two choices and basically picked one that will most likely screw over the next game or will make it very strange to say the least.
Overall the game is a great game, graphics are pretty good, and it will keep you enterained long after you finish the game. However several glitches and story moment keep it from being a truely great game.
So should you buy the game? Yes if you are a fan of the series otherwise I'd say just rent it.
Assassin's Creed 3 gets 4 founding fathers out of 5.

Kick-Ass 2 Photo and Marvel movies news
This week we have for the first officially released photo from Kiss-Ass 2 and some news from X-men: Days of Future Past and Amazing Spider-man 2.

First off we have the first released photo for Kick-Ass 2 showing Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes, who is the leader of the superhero group Justice Forever. Do you think Kick-Ass is looking to join Justice Forever or will they end up being a pain in his Ass? Kick-Ass 2 opens June 28.
(Note: Poster is FAN MADE)
News came out not too long ago for The Amazing Spider-man 2 that they cast Chronicle star Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, Peter's best friend and son of Norman Osborn (aka the Green Goblin). Now that news isn't the big until this next bit is added in... At the Sundance Film Festival The director of the film he had been working on, John Krokidas, was introducing the cast of the film and when he got to DeHaan, he mentioned "He's the Green Goblin," and DeHaan smiled. Now does this confirm that he will become the Green Goblin like Harry has in the comics so many times before or was he just playing a little joke? Only time will tell.

Final bit of news this week is that Wolverine himself Hugh Jackman, was confirmed to be appearing in the upcoming sequel to X-Men: First Class, X-men: Days of Future Past. The film involves a tone of time travel so there will be a lot of cameos from the previous X-Men movies. Hugh Jackman had this to say in an interview with the Daily Mail, "Every other actor who’s ever put on a superhero uniform will be in it." Who do you want to see return for the film?

The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey: Review
Peter Jackson has returned to Middle Earth to tell J.R.R. Tolkien's story that set-up the Lord of the Rings. It has been in theaters for awhile now but most theaters should still have it showing. But the question is was this adaptation any good?
The Hobbit is a great movie, however the pace near the beginning of the film was so slow that you could have run to the next theater over watched half of that movie, then ran back and they still would have been discussing in Bilbo's house. That's not to say it's not a good story, it's a great one but don't go expecting the constant action of Lord of the Rings. If you read the book (which I did) before you go see the movie these parts are more interesting and sets up a lot of what happens in Lord of the Rings, but for first timers to the story it might be hard to bare. The acting, costumes, music, sets and scenery are amazing, in fact the movie over all is visually stunning. The only problem I saw with visuals is Jackson's use of CGI has definitely increased since Lord of the Rings which makes some characters look too fake for my liking (Gorkil the Goblin King in particular). The problem with this movie simply is that because Jackson set the Hobbit up to be a trilogy again this one is mainly setting up for the next two which will definitely have a faster pace (I hope). However by the end of the movie it's just as good as Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies, but as I said, it's at the end so just as the plot picks up we have to wait for the next part.
So should you go see The Hobbit? Yes you should, but if you are new to the story be prepared for a very slow beginning for an almost 3 hour movie...
I give the Hobbit 4.5 Dwarves out of 5 if you read the book and 3.5 if you haven't.

More Photos and News!
Hey guys this week we have new photos from Man of Steel, Iron Man 3 and The Wolverine as well as news from the upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show, a CW Wonder Woman show and Batman news!

So here we see Superman being taken in by what looks like the Air Force and/or Army, how do you think he will get out of this? Earn their trust or break out?
Not too much revealed in this Iron Man 3 photo except for a look at the new gold armor. However, notice he's wearing the armor casually inside do you think this could be a display of a pre-extremis armor?

Finally another new photo for The Wolverine, unlike last time however his claws are definitely adamantium, so was the last photo just a bad angle or a flashback?
(These photos curtsey of Film Thrasher)

Also news for the upcoming SHIELD TV show, the show is set after the events of the Avengers film, no big deal right? Well until you factor in the fact that Clark Gregg will be reprising his role as Agent Phil Coulson for the show, who as you know, (*SPOILER ALERT*) died in The Avengers. Does this mean Coulson was a life model decoy? Did he not actually die? Or will he appear simply for a flashback? Only time will tell.

The CW has announced plans for a new show Amazon which will follow a young Diana before she became Wonder Woman. The CW says the show could possibly exist in the same universe as their other show Arrow and could also be connected to the Justice League movie. Do you think this is the way D.C. should go to introduce their characters in a show leading up to the Justice League movie unlike doing films like Marvel?

Finally Warner Bros. has recently registered several domain names centered around Batman and Arkham including arkhamuniverse.com (Arkham Universe) and batmanarkhamlegends.com (Batman Arkham Legends) so do you think this is setting up for a new Arkham video game or a movie based off the highly successful games?

New photos, and Thor: The Dark World News
Hey everybody and welcome to the first addition of Superhero Sunday, this week we have several interesting bits of information coming from up coming Superhero titles.
First up we have two new photos from The Man of Steel and The Wolverine:

(Looks like my theory about a Government investigation was right)

(Correct me if I'm wrong, but in this shot at least, his claws look bone-like again...interesting)
Also revealed were the first shots of Firefly the Batman villain who will be appearing on an upcoming episode of the CW's show Arrow.

(No mask?)

(Firefly from the Comics)
Finally news for Thor: The Dark World came from Lady Sif herself Jamie Alexander who said this time around the movie will explore the Sif/Thor relationship more than the first movie and that this film will have more of a dark tone than the first film. What this means for Jane Foster and Thor's fate so far is still speculation. Thor: The Dark World is set to release November 8, 2013.
Well there you have it folks lots of news today, sound off what you think in the comments below, on our Facebook page or on Twitter!

Optimus Prime Vs. The Hulk: Results!
We asked in a battle between Optimus Prime and The Hulk who would win? Well the results are in so the question is now, who won the battle between Machine and Monster?

The winner who received 100% of votes from our poll was...
The Hulk!
How: Optimus is a skilled and powerful fighter, however most of his weapons are projectiles that wouldn't be able to pierce the Hulk's durable flesh, also the Hulk's unmeasurable strength would allow him to easily crush and rip off part's of Optimus's machine body.
Just a reminder to everyone this is the final battle until February when we start our video blog on YouTube so keep an eye out for that. However I am still looking for your input on who you want to see fight so feel free to still suggest those.

Making Changes
Hey guys I just wanted to let you all know I took the week off from posting new content due to the New year but I will start back up this Saturday with the results of Optimus Prime VS. The Hulk.

However, I am making a few changes, I am postponing the fights until after the vlog starts up in February when we hopefully get a bigger fan base (right now basically 2 people vote so the results of each fight, so it's not necessarily a fair choice of who the people think would win) in it's place on Sundays I will have an article focusing on Superhero New, Rumors or Gossip. Mondays will now be either be general nerdy topics, Minecraft Mondays (in which you can submit your creations, i may submit some of my own or creative ideas from the web) or updates on the blog or vlog. Finally Top 5 Fridays will remain the same.

So in short, days to check back here are Sundays, Mondays and Fridays now, however I will post things that I think are worthy of sharing on our Facebook page or on Twitter on any day (for those of you who haven't liked or followed us yet you get a lot more info from me if you do).
Thanks and Happy Nerdy New Year!

Optimus Prime VS. The Hulk
Machine vs. Monster, Autobot vs. Avenger, who would win in a fight between the leader of the Autobots Optimus Prime or the Avengers most powerful member The Incredible Hulk? It's up to you to decide the battle of Powerful Giants!

As always here are brief bios of the fighters to help you decide who would win...
Optimus Prime- Originally just a civilian on Cybertron until he was chosen by the Matrix to command the Autobots in the war against the Decepticons. The War eventually brought them to Earth and Optimus swore to protect Earth from the Decepticons and his arch rival Megatron. Optimus is a fearless leader who has given his life more than once for those he swore to protect.
Weapons and Abilities: Ion Blaster, Energon-sword and Axe and the Ability to transform into anything he scans (He usually chooses the form of a Firetruck).
The Hulk- Dr. Bruce Banner a genius scientist specializing in Gamma radiation was attempting to recreate the Super Soldier Serum that created Captain America, however the Gamma wave forever transformed him into the Incredible Hulk. The Hulk is either an amazing ally or a terrible foe the Hulk has killed Gods moved mountains and even conquered other planets and there aren't many in the Marvel Universe more powerful than him.
Powers: Limitless Strength, Super Durability, Healing Factor, and Super Speed/ Jump.
Be sure to vote on our Facebook page or Twitter which now feature our new logo and Background that I posted below.

Megaman VS. Bomberman: Results
We wanted to know who would win in a fight between the Blue Bomber and the White Bomber and now the results are in who won the battle of the Robot Heroes?
The winner who received 100% of our votes was....
Megaman!
How: Although Bomberman can produce endless bombs Megaman can teleport way from them and his pellet shooter has a much longer range and can be charged to increase it's power which would easily take care of the White Bomber.

Bomberman VS. Megaman!
Who would win in a fight between The Blue Bomber (Megaman) and the White Bomber (Bomberman)?

As always here is a brief bio on each of our fighters!
Bomberman - AKA the White Bomber comes from the Planet Bomber and is or the Bomberman species which gives him the ability to produce and unlimited number of bombs at any given time. Originally Bombermen were robots used to make bombs and the White Bomber was the first to rebel. He later went on to join an inter galactic police force to help protect the galaxy.
Abilities/powers: Endless supply of bombs of all types, Flight (Though his Bombercopter and jet pack).
Megaman - Although there are many verisions of Megaman for this battle we are going with the original. Megaman was created in the year 200X by Dr. Thomas Light as well as 6 other working robots. His old colleague Dr. Albert W. Wily grew jelous and turned his robots against them minus Megaman who volunteered to stop them and has been a hero ever since.
Abilities/powers: Buster Cannon (Shoots compressed plasma), limited teleportation, and Weapon copy (only after the enemy is defeated he gains their weapon attack)
So who would win in a battle to the death? Vote on our Facebook page or on Twitter! I will announce the winner next Saturday in the mean time feel free to suggest next week's match-up!

Top 5 Possible Newcomers for the next Smash Bros. Game
I want to start of by saying this list is compiled of newcomers that could actually be added to the Smash Bros. franchise and would fit the style of game Nintendo wants from their top fighting franchise. 9In other words no PlayStation or Microsoft exclusives, Superheros, or overly violent characters such as Mortal Kombat characters because Nintendo would never add them).
5. Megaman- Now I know Megaman is owned by Capcom not Nintendo, but fans have been begging for him to be included, in fact there is even a Facebook page to get him included in the next Smash Bros game. The only possible problem for the Character is that Campcom would have to allow Nintendo to use him, however Capcom said they would love to see him included in a Smash Bros game after there were rumors of him being in Brawl. I think the likelyhood for him to be in the next game are higher then one would think and he'd be a great addition as well (think Samus + Kirby) so I don;t see why Nintendo would ignore him once again.
4. Little Mac- He was an assist trophy in brawl, and shortly after appeared in a new Punch-Out game for the Wii. So Nintendo already has the model for the Character in the Smash Bros. setting and a basic move-set. All they have to do now is expand that move-set (think a Donkey Kong + Captain Falcon type character) and he will easily fight into the Smash Bros.Universe (he is a fighter after all). I would be honestly surprised if he doesn't at least return as an assist trophy again in the next game.
3. King K. Rool- With the additions of Meta Knight, King Dedede, Wario, and Wolf it looks like Nintendo wants to add one Villain for each of their main franchises represented in Smash Bros. At this point the only big franchises without a villain are; Donkey Kong, and Pokemon (I'm including Yoshi, Wario and Luigi all as the Mario franchise), so of those two I think Donkey Kong is highly more likely to get their villain added (although a team rocket charcter would be awesome). With all this in mind I think our chances of seeing King K. Rool (move-set think Boaswer + King Dedede) aren't that far off.
2. Geno- He is a fan favorite and people have been asking for him for almost every Smash Bros. title. There were rumors of him being in Brawl but they were later dismissed, however inside the code of the game was Geno's Woods as one of the songs in brawl that was later removed. Before I would have said it would happen because of Square-Enix not working with nintendo, however after Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance came out on the 3DS I think we could finally see Geno fight again. (Move-set I honestly couldn't say what other character he is like)
And the #1 Possible Newcomer for the next Super Smash Bros. game is....
1 Pac-Man- After it was announced Namco was making the next Smash Bros. everyone was wondering if a Namco character would join the Smash Bros. cast. The only two that would fit the style of the franchise are either Dig-Dug or Pac-Man. Pac-Man is Namco's Mario so there is no way they won't include him (Dig-dug would be very cool though), and if they do I will honestly be surprised. (Move-set think Mario + Kirby)
Who do you want to see in the Next Smash Bros. game let us know in the comments below, on our Facebook page or on Twitter! Don't forget to vote for who you think should fight Bomberman this week (Match-ups will now be on Sunday)! Have a great weekend everyone.
